Al-Sayer’s Mohamed Naser Al-Sayer & Sons Est. has held Toyota since 1954 and still calls itself the brand’s second-oldest distributor anywhere; Lexus sits in the same group. Alghanim Industries is the other volume pole: Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Honda, and a growing China-origin shelf that now includes Chery, Exeed, JAC, Hongqi and BYD. Ali Alghanim & Sons — a different Alghanim — took the prestige door in 1986 with BMW and later added MINI, Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, McLaren and Geely. Do not merge the Alghanim automotive files
Visiting teams keep writing “Alghanim” as if it were one door. Industries is Ford, GM, Honda and the China-volume shelf. Ali & Sons is BMW and the prestige stack. They do not share a yard, a workshop or a family decision meeting.
A competitive brief that wants “the Alghanim response to Toyota” must say which Alghanim. BYD versus Land Cruiser is an Industries question. Geely versus X5 is an Ali & Sons question. Mixing them produces a slide no one in Kuwait will recognise.
Used and incoming GCC metal
Car World is Al-Sayer’s attempt to keep the used Land Cruiser inside the family. Independent yards and private GCC imports are the leak. Residual studies that only sample the official used desk will overstate how clean the second-life market is.
