Automotive distributors directory 2026
Automotive Distributors in the UAE
Al-Futtaim’s Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Volvo and BYD book is the volume and now the electric conversation in Dubai. Al Tayer (and Premier Motors in the capital) holds Ford, Lincoln, Jaguar Land Rover, Ferrari and Maserati. Gargash keeps Mercedes-Benz in Dubai; Emirates Motor Company, inside Al Fahim, keeps the same star in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Arabian Automobiles carries Nissan, Infiniti and Renault for Dubai and the north, while Al Masaood does Nissan in the capital. Ali & Sons, AW Rostamani, Juma Al Majid, Al Ghandi and Trading Enterprises fill the rest of the agency chessboard. Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi ports make the country a re-export deck as well as a retail market, so a principal is often appointing a Gulf hub, not only seven showrooms. The names below are distributor houses and dealer groups, not a catalogue of every badge on Sheikh Zayed Road.

How the market is structured
How an agency is split across Dubai and Abu Dhabi
Local
Emirate merchant families that hold the exclusive file for Dubai or for Abu Dhabi, almost never for both, and then sub-cover Sharjah, Ajman, RAK and Fujairah from the nearer hub.
- Al Tayer Motors
- Premier Motors
- Gargash Enterprises
- Emirates Motor Company (Al Fahim)
- Abu Dhabi Motors (Al Fahim)
- Arabian Automobiles Company
- Al Masaood Automobiles
- Ali and Sons Holding
- Juma Al Majid Establishment

- Al Habtoor Motors
- Al Ghandi Auto
Multinational
Factory stores are not the UAE model. A few mobility and equipment brands arrive under a global rental or truck banner, but the passenger file still sits with a local house.
Regional
Al-Futtaim is the Gulf-scale exception: a Dubai headquarters that already runs automotive P&Ls in several countries and can add a Kingdom or Qatar depot without a new family agency.
- Al-Futtaim Automotive
Dealer groups, leasing & aftermarket
Federal customs, the Ministry of Economy, emirate licensing departments, bank captives and rental fleets that decide whether a plated car stays in the country or leaves Jebel Ali as a re-export.
- Trading Enterprises
- FAMCO (Al-Futtaim Auto and Machinery Company)
- Sixt UAE (Gargash franchise)

Market structure
Dubai volume versus Abu Dhabi fleet
Dubai registrations are household, tourist and SME. Abu Dhabi registrations are household plus a government and energy-company fleet that still prefers a capital invoice. That is why Patrol, Land Cruiser and G-Class briefs fail when they sample only Sheikh Zayed Road showrooms.
Al Ain is not a suburb of either city for agency purposes. Emirates Motor Company and Premier Motors treat it as part of the capital map; a Dubai house that promises “national coverage” is usually promising a weekend van, not a plated stock of its own.
Free-zone metal and mainland plates
Stock can sit in a Jebel Ali or KEZAD yard for weeks before anyone decides whether it will be a UAE plate or a re-export. Finance teams that count “UAE inventory” without asking which yard and which intended plate will double-count metal that will never see a Dubai registration.
Mainland showrooms then inherit whatever the house allocated. Mystery shops that ask only “when can I have this colour” are really asking how the free-zone allocation meeting went on Sunday, not how fast the factory ships.
What is moving
What is moving the automotive market in the UAE
Emirate-split agency politics
Mercedes, Nissan and several luxury files still need two signatures. A principal that tries to force a single national agent discovers the capital fleet will not buy from a Dubai invoice.
China-origin EV desks inside old houses
BYD at Al-Futtaim and GAC at Gargash are being staffed as new desks, not as cheap trims of Lexus or Mercedes. Charging, residual risk and workshop tooling are the real launch tasks.
Re-export through Jebel Ali
A large share of what lands in Dubai is destined for another Gulf or East African plate. Warehouse capacity and customs digitisation move the UAE P&L even when domestic registrations are flat.
Rental and corporate-lease disposal
Sixt, in-house lease books and hotel fleets set residuals for the same badges the showrooms sell. Used-car malls in Sharjah then recycle those cars into a price conversation the official dealer cannot ignore.
BioNixus fieldwork
How BioNixus studies automotive distributors and dealer groups in the UAE
- Same-week mystery shops of a badge in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to catch split-agency price, stock and handover gaps.
- Jebel Ali yard walks that separate domestic-allocation metal from re-export holds before anyone calls the pile “UAE demand”.
- Capital fleet-manager interviews (government, energy, hospitality) on why an Abu Dhabi invoice still beats a Dubai one.
- Rental-disposal and Sharjah used-mall price collections that feed residual assumptions for Toyota, Nissan and Mercedes briefs.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one distributor cover all seven emirates?
A licence can, a relationship usually cannot. Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and several luxury files are still split between a Dubai house and an Abu Dhabi house. Northern emirates follow the nearer of those two.
Who sells Toyota in the UAE?
Al-Futtaim Automotive holds Toyota and Lexus. That is a different family from Abdul Latif Jameel in Saudi Arabia; do not brief them as one Gulf Toyota agent.
Why do rental companies appear on a distributor page?
Because they set residuals and daily-rate mix for the same badges. Gargash’s Sixt franchise and in-house lease books are part of how a Mercedes or a Toyota is actually used and disposed of.
Who clears the cars at the port?
Emirate customs departments clear the consignment under federal rules now housed at the ICP authority. The appointed house files the entry; the Ministry of Economy does not stamp the bill of lading.
How does BioNixus research UAE dealer groups?
Paired Dubai–Abu Dhabi mystery shops on the same badge; fleet-manager interviews in the capital; free-zone yard audits at Jebel Ali; and rental-disposal interviews that connect showroom residuals to Sharjah used-car asking prices.
Does this page rank UAE automotive groups by revenue?
Revenue, showroom count and service bays are not the sort key. A name is here because it holds an emirate agency, a mobility book we field, or a federal licensing role.
